My iii-year-old and I are having so much fun doing alphabet activities together! Subsequently putting together a giant resources for the alphabet with my two older boys, I'm choosing a small-scale pick to do with my but-turned-3. Each week, I'll be sharing those with you then you.
We're doing only the right amount of activities to continue him learning without losing his involvement!
Alphabetic character C Activities
My Three isn't ready for handwriting exercise yet, but I like to reinforce the shape of the letters past having him fill them with objects that start with the letter'due south sound. He filled a giant letter C with carrot slices. (And my piddling male child who cries when nosotros have carrots at dinner ate a whole handful!)
I ever print three little books for each letter. This is i of my unproblematic alphabet books that you can print for free. He too loves my little book of rhymes and songs. Final, I always print the letter volume that comes with Learning the Alphabet, our favorite alphabetic character of the week curriculum.
I printed our letter C dot sticker page, and he covered the white circles with office stickers.
I printed this cake C and pictures from Learning the Alphabet. As he glued them onto the C, we talked about each picture and reinforced the sound. "/c/ /c/ camel! /c/ /c/ true cat!"
For our math connection nosotros did a few activities with coins. Here he sorted the coins in our dish. And then simple – but he loved this!
Side by side, he graphed the coins. He had a harder time with this one and asked for aid.
I labeled a bare die with the numbers 1,2,3,1,2 and 3. Then he rolled the die and put that many coins in the piggy bank. When I could meet he had no problem with this, I took another die and labeled it with the numbers 1-6. I couldn't believe how long he kept at this! (For other fun ways to learn with coins, check out this post.)
Hither'southward a math action from Learning the Alphabet. I printed the numbered cakes, and he put that many birthday candles on each one. Fun!
For arts and crafts, he did his favorite activity: car painting. He asks to do this at least in one case a calendar week. I only squirt washable tempera pigment on the paper, and he drives his cars effectually while I get a little work done. đŸ˜‰
He also enjoyed cotton ball painting with a clothespin. For more arts and crafts ideas for alphabetic character C, visit this post.
I couldn't leave out his favorite Learning the Alphabet activity. He rolled the die and put a lowercase or capital letter C on the correct ladder. Big C won!
Of form, we are e'er, always reading. Here were some of our favorite letter C books. For lots more, check out our letter C book list.
We're always bringing it dorsum to the whole alphabet! This fourth dimension I buried our messages and cards in a container of colored alphabet pasta. He dug out the letters and matched them to the cards. It's always fun to see how many letter names he's picking upwardly only by our play. Nosotros're only "officially" on letter of the alphabet C, but he tin identify at to the lowest degree a tertiary of the alphabet.
I'd had plans to make some deject dough as our sensory play for the week, but that is way better as an outside activity. Since we're covered in snowfall here, digging in the colored pasta was a nice substitute.
I also similar to exercise a name activity when we accept the fourth dimension. Of course, this marshmallow name edifice action from Fun-a-Twenty-four hours was a big hit!
